Before my transplant, I was in a lot of pain and very sick and with severe impurities (itching). It was so difficult to do anything; I had no life, I worked when I could but spent a great deal of time in hospital. I had been ill for so many years that I couldn’t even imagine what it would be like to be well. It wasn’t a quick or easy process to get on the waiting list for a transplant.  

 

I don’t know who donated their liver to me but it has changed my life. I think about that person every day and because of this person I am healthy and happy.   It’s been five years now and I am well into a nursing degree. I want to spend my new life helping others like me.
